Your new guide to injection moulding

Updated: Jan 26

Injection moulding may seem like a simple process from the outside. However, it’s only when you dive into the detail, that you realise it’s much more complex than you first thought. Almost all the products we use in our daily lives contain plastic; from kitchen utensils to games consoles, the clothes we wear to the cars we drive. It is no exaggeration to say that plastic is essential to our way of life. Despite this fact, how many of these items are made remains a mystery to many. We’ve created a video series, called Technical Tuesdays, to explore the different factors that affect the injection moulding process, the different injection moulding methods as well as materials and much more. We hope that this series will provide a more comprehensive understanding of injection moulding.

So far, we have covered:

  1. Injection Speed

  2. Packing Pressure

  3. Cooling Time

  4. Clamping Force

  5. Machine Maintenance

  6. Back Pressure

We hope that this series can be used as a resource for all to learn more about injection moulding and to gain an appreciation for just how much work goes into the everyday items we take for granted. We’ve provided our first 5 episodes here, if you want to keep up to date with the latest episodes of Technical Tuesdays then head over to our LinkedIn or YouTube channel to never miss an episode. If you have a project which requires Design for Manufacture, complex tooling, single, Two-Shot or over-moulding, then get in touch. We are always on hand to offer our expert advice and to see how we can add value to your product.
