The EEF Future Manufacturing Awards are open to all UK manufacturers, a well established and respected regional and national recognition of manufacturing success.
As South West regional winner, we donned our tuxedos for the Nationals at the Grand Connought Rooms London, and were thrilled to win runner up in the Developing People Award – pipped to the post by the UK arm of German firm ZF Lemforder, a 100 million t/o company, with 350 staff.
Not bad for an SME of >40 staff!
The entry form pulled no punches in it's rigorous examination of how, when, why and wherefores: 2000 words, a nail-biting presenattion to the judges, and one gala dinner later, we return to the South West feeling proud, it's a real acheivement to be recognised at this level.
The judges said Hymid: "delivered a passionate and enthusiastic presentation of a great story encompassing extensive work done over the last couple of years that has led to great examples of best practice management. The business went about developing a multi-dimensional development programme to address skills shortage, an aging workforce and to grow management capability. With a “people-led”, collaborative approach this business is reaping the benefits in terms of turnover, profitability and productivity."
