Jamie joined Hymid as an apprentice when he was 19, and started by spending a few months in each department before deciding to stay in the toolroom to develop his machining skills. After a couple of years he moved into the design office to work with Andy Tettmar, using Solidworks (CAD).
His role is to manage all of Hymid’s new tooling projects from the beginning of the process when orders are received, through to approving them for production. His day-to-day role includes tool designs, problem solving, specifying and managing materials, liaising with customers to develop their parts and communicating feedback to suppliers.
Jamie is an avid motorbike racer in his spare time and seems to bounce well when he crashes!
